The first 6 months of the committee have been busy. We’re delighted to share two important milestones for Basingstoke Sikh Sabha:

• In June 2025, we formally ratified our Constitution – giving us a clear governance framework, transparent decision-making and a strong legal foundation.
• In October 2025, we achieved Charity Status – this will unlock public trust, allowing us to apply for grants, and ensuring our finances are managed to the highest standard.

Next up: Gift Aid registration and Develop a 10 year strategy and plan.

Gift Aid will:

• Add 25p for every £1 of donation – at no extra cost to you
• Boost our annual income by thousands of pounds, directly funding seva projects, youth programmes and the Future Fund
• Demonstrate to donors that BSS is a well-run, accountable charity

Having a clear strategy and a 10-year plan means we:

• Are not just reacting to tomorrow’s challenges – we’re anticipating them.
• Keep every project on track, ensure our resources are used wisely.
• Have a defined roadmap, we’ll celebrate each success, learn quickly from setbacks.
• Enables our Sangat see exactly how their support makes a lasting difference.
